Goshukan Karate Academy Celebrates Success at the Annual Seiwakai Australia Training Camp

Goshukan Karate Academy ACT recently participated in the annual Seiwakai Australia Training Camp held in Wollongong from the 24th to the 26th of November, 2023. This year's camp exceeded expectations, providing our members with an exciting and educational experience. We were honoured to train with top Australian Shihan-kai and receive instruction from Rastislav Mraz Kyoshi Shihan, an 8th Dan Seiwakai instructor from Slovakia. We also had the privilege of having former WKF Australian Coach Ennio Anselmi Shihan, who delivered inspiring kumite lessons.

Representing Goshukan Karate Academy were 30 dedicated members from NSW, ACT, QLD, and TAS. Among them, eight members from the ACT attended, showcasing our academy's widespread presence and influence.

Nine members successfully achieved their next grade level during the camp, with five members proudly representing Goshukan Karate Academy ACT. Their achievements are a testament to their years of dedication, discipline, and commitment to self-improvement. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the following individuals on their Seiwakai/Goshukan Black Belt Grading achievements:

  1. Erkan Saygili: Godan - 5th Dan (NSW)
  2. Paul Ierna: Nidan - 2nd Dan (QLD)
  3. Trisha Endres: Shodan - 1st Dan (NSW)
  4. Saku Sunakawa: Shodan - 1st Dan (QLD)

  7. Biensy Knight: Shodan - 1st Dan (ACT)
  8. Justin Digglemann: Shodan - 1st Dan (ACT)

Following 15 hours of intensive training, our remarkable ACT-based students earned their prestigious 1st Dan Black Belts, marking a significant milestone in their martial arts journey. We express our sincere gratitude to some of the camp's senior instructors for acknowledging the high level of skill and quality of karate demonstrated by several of our ACT students. This recognition reinforces our commitment to maintaining the high standards set by our academy and nurturing individuals with exceptional character and skill.

Special thanks go to the parents of Biensy Knight and Pat Maniyom for their unwavering support, dedication, and commitment. Your role in shaping these remarkable individuals deserves special acknowledgment, and we are grateful for your encouragement.
